Vijay Nanhoe

Vijay Nanhoe is the founder and head coach of the Kyokushin Fight Academy and one of the leading figures within his organization. As both an accomplished fighter and dedicated instructor, he combines elite performance with a clear vision for developing the next generation of Kyokushin athletes.

Throughout his competitive career, Vijay has built an impressive record, becoming a 6-time National Champion, 3-time European Champion, and Vice-World Champion. His achievements reached a peak with his victory at the prestigious All Japan Open, where he claimed the title in the adult open weight division. In addition, he successfully earned his 3rd Dan (Sandan) in Miyazaki, Japan, under the supervision of the international board of the Sonoda organization.

Known for his unique fighting style, Vijay has earned the reputation as the “Wizard of the Tatami” — a fighter who consistently finds the perfect opening to finish his opponents. His ability to read fights, control distance, and deliver precise knockouts sets him apart at the highest level of competition.

As the founder of the Kyokushin Fight Academy, Vijay has built one of the fastest-growing dojos in the Netherlands. Under his leadership, the competition team has developed into a dominant force, producing 10 Dutch National Champions at the 2026 National Championships — a reflection of the academy’s structured training, discipline, and high-performance culture.

His philosophy is rooted in the core principles of Kyokushin: discipline, respect, and pushing beyond limits. He emphasizes not only physical strength, but also mental resilience and personal growth. Through his coaching, he has guided multiple fighters to national and international success, while shaping them into leaders both on and off the tatami.
