Kyokushin Fight Academy shines at the World Karate Championship
November 29, 2025 - Grodzisk Mazowiecki
On November 29, the Karate Team Nissewaard delivered an impressive performance
during the Kyokushin Karate World Championship in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland. Under
Led by national coach Vijay Nanhoe, a team of ten young talents traveled to the
tournament, which they had been working towards intensively and with full dedication for the past few months
worked.
The team consisted of: Imran, Nagely, Heavenly, Ciara, Jayvian, Ross, Kishan, Jazlyn, Duc
and Konstantinos. All ten participants fought with enormous dedication and achieved international
show what Nissewaard stands for: perseverance, discipline and strength. In a
In a field of +1400 international top fighters, they all managed to reach the top 10!
Two young athletes even managed to reach the podium:
- Imran became World Kumite (fighting) Champion in the 6–7 year age category.
- Konstantinos achieved the title of Vice World Kata Champion in the 6–7 year old category.
Their achievements serve as an inspiring example for the youth in our community and
seeing that talent development and hard training actually lead to world-class performance. The success
of the team is not only the result of individual effort, but also of the strengths
guidance, team spirit and the unifying power of sport within Nissewaard.
The Karate Team Nissewaard proudly returns — with titles, experience and the knowledge
that tomorrow's world champions are being formed in our community.

BERGKAMP POLAND 4-7 NOVEMBER 2022

Last weekend, a delegation from the Kyokushin Fight Academy traveled to Stara Wies in the southeastern region of Austria, where they participated in the Kyokushin training camp led by shihan Włodzimierz Weselski.
This three-day camp consisted of various facets of karate including kihon, kata and kumite.
It was also possible to take exams here for a higher rank. Exams were held for 2nd dan, 10th kyu level 2, and 8th kyu level 2. Each rank entailed slightly more challenging exam requirements. For example, from the first dan (black belt) exam onward, planks were also broken with fists and elbows.

KYOKUSHIN FIGHT ACADEMY TAKES HOME THE 2022 YUJIN CUP

On October 1, 2022, the Kyokushin Fight Academy participated in the Yujin Cup in Oude Tonge with a team of 15 men and women. This was the first full-contact karate tournament since the gym's founding in 2020. After months of preparation, a selection was formed to compete in this tournament. This selection consisted of the following Academy athletes: Imran Matovu, Ross Jones, Kishan Nanhoe, Emir Smajlovic, Keshav Chauthi, Cayden Copier, Candice Copier, Ashwarya Nanhoe, Mila Struijk, Angel Nanhoe, Daniël Kailuhu, Arman Çinar, and Anh Khoi Tran.
Accompanied by the coaching team (K. Nanhoe, A. Nanhoe, and V. Nanhoe), the athletes departed for the competition venue early Saturday morning at 7:30 AM. After all teams had checked in and weighed in, the competitions began. This resulted in an impressive 15 podium finishes: 5 gold medals, 7 silver, and 3 bronze.
All in all, a very successful day.

On the 19th of September the Youth Kyokushin Karate Exams were conducted at the Kyokushin Fight Academy.

Today, the Kyokushin Fight Academy participated in the Riwal Youth Run with 12 youth members. An event organized by @fortiusdrechtsteden
All 12 participants did their utmost and gave everything they could. We are incredibly proud of you all.
Also thanks to all the support from parents, friends and the public.
It was a beautiful day never to be forgotten.
RIWAL AERIAL WORK PLATFORMS HALF MARATHON

Today, a select team from the Kyokushin Fight Academy competed in the RIWAL HOOGWERKERS Half Marathon, an event organized by Fortius.
Daniel, Mark and Vijay received the starting signal at 12.20 to begin the 10 KM and all completed it successfully.

On Wednesday, October 6th, and Tuesday, October 12th, the Kyokushin Fight Academy provided full-contact karate clinics to students from various schools in the Spijkenisse area.

This was done as part of the local sports and exercise agreement. The goal: To get more children actively involved in sports!

Everyone passed their exam. Proud of everyone. After the exam we started the grading ceremony and ate pie to celebrate the first year anniversary of the KFA!
