COMPETITIONS
Kumite
Kumite, the martial art, is the most physically demanding discipline there is and demands a great deal from the body. Participating in kyokushin kumite competitions requires rigorous training to achieve successful results. Not everyone can simply participate. Only those who have undergone the most rigorous physical and mental training will emerge victorious.
Kumite competitions are divided into categories for both youth and adults. Youth usually fight in a pool system, where multiple bouts are fought to gain experience. Adults, on the other hand, fight according to the elimination system. Every bout must be won to have a chance at the title. Victories can be won by knockouts, knockdowns, and points. More information about kumite competitions is provided during training sessions.

KATA
Kata, the formal running, is the most mentally demanding discipline there is and demands the body just as much as kumite. Every movement, every stance, even every breath must be executed almost perfectly to be successful in this discipline. Control of body and mind is paramount, which is why good kata runners are highly respected in the karate world.
Kata competitions can be held in various ways. The most common method is that two kata are performed during a kata competition, and the best runner advances to the next round. The best kata runner is determined by scoring. More information about kata competitions will be provided during training sessions.
